" I miss my daddy"

Today, My heart sank. I believe for the first time my daughter expressed her true feeling about her awareness that daddy does not live with us. I was putting her to bed as normal, kissed her goodnight when about 10 minutes in to a silence room. My daughter started to scream and then cry. I said "Kori whats wrong?" No answer I then said it again "Kori are you okay, whats wrong honey" My three year old then screams " I miss my daddy" Woooh...I did not know what to say..in complete shock I said "Kori what did you say?" still crying "I miss my daddy" I always feel guilty that I am no longer with the man that I had a child with and I really have no one to take his place to be a father figure. However, no one can take his place. He is her father. There are time I blame myself about it, actually still do, however I have to learn to forgive myself an there was nothing I did wrong. I tried to keep it together but you need two people who want a relationship not one. So I went to my daughters bed side and wiped her tears and said would you like to call daddy? "yes mommy I want to call daddy" Kori said. So, we called him however, believing he was at work he did not answer the phone. So, I asked Kori..do you want to call someone else? She then said a name of one of my male friends. However, he did not answer the phone. So, I asked Kori again "Kori would you like to call someone else?" "No" as she put her head down. I can tell she was disappointed. So I said Kori lets call on our father god! We can pray and that is what she did! We prayed. I told her, sometimes when you don't know who to call on , call on Jesus and God and she said "Okay mommy"

So My encouragement is to teach your children to rely on God! We prayed together, and we will pray together every night going forward. I want her to understand that God is our father who never lets us down.

Question for you ladies: What do you do when your child ask "Mommy where is my daddy" What can you say to each other for encouragement? Looking forward to hearing from you!

You are loved!
